Beginning Two Week Session

Lecture -Anatomy & Proper Shoeing

8 hrs.

Horsemanship

2 hr.

Basic Hoof Trimming

40 hrs.

Forging

23 hrs.

Written Exams

2 hr.

This session is recommended for those students interested in trimming their own horses . This session includes learning beginning anatomy, conformational defects, and faulty gaits. The instructors will also teach basic forging, trimming, shaping, and proper horse handling.

Students are responsible for the assigned text readings and assigned homework.

All tools needed for class are furnished for the students for this Two Week Session.

               Total number of hours in course: 75 hours.
 

Hours in session: Monday through Friday
 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The school shop is opened after regular school hours to allow students to perfect their skills.

Upon successful completion of the
 Two Week Session students will receive a certificate.

Start Dates for the Two Week Session are as follows:

 April 8, 2013 - April 19, 2013
 August 12, 2013 - August 23, 2013
January 6, 2014 - January 18, 2014

The cost of tuition for the Two Week Sessions is $1650.00.
The price of the text book is $150.00.
Housing is offered in the school dorm for $150.00

Deposit required on housing/tuition is $300.00.

Although all tools needed for class will be furnished, students may  purchase tools and supplies through Midwest Horseshoeing School at any point during the session at a discounted price.
